| Pilot Project for the acquisition
and transfer of fingerprints.
The system allows collecting fingerprints by
sensors connected to microcomputers
(clients) and transfer than to a server,
via TCP/IP thru a standard Ethernet network.
The server has the function of receive data
from the clients and compare the fingerprints
with those already registered.
The comparison of the fingerprints happens
over the main application's database.
The project was developed using client/server architecture.
The client applications runs at standard IBM hardware and the server
application runs in HP stations with UNIX (HP-UX) operational systems.
The client application was developed to Windows95
with the Microsoft Visual C++ 4.0. At the server,
the communication module and the monitoring interface
were developed in C K&R language resulting on a
X-Windows/OSF-Motif application.
The pilot project was used to
evaluate the viability of the bank
security applications by FBB/Antheus.
