Distributed system for check-in and access control, using digital fingerprint scanners.

The system has the task to control de access and the permanence of the users in the various dependencies of a place (companies, laboratories, etc ). For this the systems counts on some modules as users register, access points registers, management and monitoring of the installed place.

The system uses client/server architecture where are used access terminals with MS-DOS operational systems, in network communication (TCP/IP) with a Windows 9x/NT server.

The using of MS-DOS with TCP/IP instead of Windows offers the following advantages:

> Eliminates the network's operational system;
> Reduces the cost of installation and maintenance;
> Allows more robust terminals and with a better performance.

The OceanTech, company at São Paulo, get in partnership with VOXEL Engenharia de Sistemas in the development of this project. The OceanTech resell the systems developed together with the hardware to give the customers a complete solution.
